What We Do

Breakfast With Santa

Reservation Form

Our Kiwanis club teams up with a local restaurant each Christmas season to hold a Breakfast with Santa. Parents sign up their children to attend for a nominal charge. The restaurant donates all the food and staff for the event. The proceeds go towards a need in our community (e.g. playground equipment for the local grade school). It is a day full of fun and gifts for the children attending.

It’s time for Breakfast With Santa!  The annual event, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Stow-Munroe Falls and Bellacino’s Restaurant, will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Bellacino’s, 3657 Fishcreek Rd. in Stow.

Doors open at 8:15 a.m., and a breakfast pizza buffet with delicious sides, including yogurt, fruit, mini pastries, milk, coffee, and juice will be served from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m.  Activities, including fun “tattoos,” story reading, chats with Santa, a game, and a special craft, will be handled by members of the SMF High School Key Club and are scheduled from 9:00 to 10:30a.m.  Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends are reminded to bring their own mobile devices or cameras for pictures with Santa and others.

All proceeds from this year’s Breakfast With Santa will go to Highland Elementary School.

Gordon Young Baby Bag Project

The Stow-Munroe Falls Kiwanis club gathered on January 8, 2020 to pack diaper bags in response to a need at Summit County Children’s Services. While Children’s Services has items on hand for older children going into foster-to -adopt care, they are in great need of items for infants. This on-going mission has become the signature project of the club.

In December of 2019, we began gathering funds, ordering items, and sorting them. Each diaper bag contains 2 blankets, a sweater, 2 onesies, 2 sleepers, 2 pairs of socks, 2 pacifiers, 2 cloth diapers, 2 bibs, a teething ring, a soft toy with a rattle, 2 bottles, and a Johnson’s Bath Kit. Children Services supplies the disposable diapers.

Sometimes the placement of an infant happens with little warning and families receiving an infant need some help to get started. The diaper bags will be available to case workers as they place infants. They will be able to take a diaper bag with them to give to foster parents when the placement is made. Ten bags are being supplied to Children’s Services to have on hand, and when the supply needs to be replenished, they will contact our project coordinator who will provide replacements. Each bag costs approximately $100 and the funds were raised through the club’s resources and through individual donations from club members and friends.

The club welcomes financial donations from the community. If you would like to donate, contact one of the club members for assistance.

Adopt-A-Family Christmas Project

Our SMF Kiwanis Club helped make Christmas brighter for one of our Stow School’s families. We give several gift cards from local grocery stores for the parent; toys, books, clothes, and art supplies for the very young children; clothes and shoes for the teenagers.

For this year’s project, we had a huge Rubbermaid container full of presents and then another large gift bag stuffed to the top with presents. The family was overwhelmed with gratitude and had tears in their eyes when they saw the all the presents.

Bulldog Bags

This is one of our Community/Youth Services projects where groups from the community come together to help pack boxes of food items for students of Stow-Munroe Falls schools. This is done at least 3 times a year, so if you are interested in helping out, please contact us.
